Hello!

If you didn’t catch it before, I’m Holly Miller! A small-town girl from Alabama. I am a recent graduate from Southern New Hampshire University earning my BA in Graphic Design with a concentration in web design. It has been a longstanding dream of mine to be a graphic designer. I strive to create websites that are accessible for as many users as possible while maintaining brand consistency. I am also passionate about websites that are easy to use on multiple devices while maintaining a unique aesthetic.
Some hobbies and interests include: playing video games with friends, creating digital art in Procreate, watching xianxia dramas, reading a book, and sewing. I can often be found doing one of these activities if time allows for it.
How did I get into graphic and web design?
We had our first personal computer when I was about 10 years old, and I often browsed websites and forums for my favorite anime and video game series. I discovered websites dedicated to characters from these series, and was very impressed with how creative and fun they were to use. I wanted to make one, too, for my favorite characters, so I started trying to make my own. I began by using templates and looking at what others were doing, and copied them. Then, I learned how to tweak the code to change it to what I wanted it to do. Back then, it was changing header stylings, body style, links with different colors on hover, changing the cursor, and using iframes to display content in a small scrollable frame. During my free time, I was almost always found playing around with some kind of website coding to customize my blogs or online journals.
That went on for a couple of years. Fast forward to 2023, I decided it was time to further my career possibilities. I decided to pursue a degree in what I dreamt of when I was younger – web design. And here we are! It has been a tough journey, but I have learned so much throughout the program. I have learned about the design principles and best practices, multichannel marketing, accessibility standards, responsive web design, and so much more!
